the last samurai

just watched 'The Last Samurai' on tv. (wow elson watched tv?!) yeah i did, haha. i've actually watched it before, but everytime i watch it, i can't help but be filled with a lot of emotions, as well as thoughts.

i really feel the way of the warrior, otherwise known as bushido, is portrayed very well in the movie. that sense of pride is so immense that it looks so empowering. and that respect they give to these warriors... if only our people think the same way about soldiers, i'd gladly work harder for my country. too bad that our countrymen's notion of people who sign on in the army is that they do so because they can't find work outside. sad, but somewhat true.

haha, on a side note, wouldn't you think that its cool to have their names engraved in their swords, which also happens to be the last thing they'd lay down. i honestly don't mind engraving my name on my own trumpet some day. what pride! how cool is that!? hurhur!
