ns and burgers

in a couple of days, i'll be going to become botak for a 'nationalistic' cause, also known as national service to some. it is during this time that boys grow up to be man, as the saying goes, "you're not a man till you've completed NS". ok, i came up with that, haha, but don't you all think its so very true?

however, many a times the government faces NS boys who are reluctant to go for NS. this may be due to the tough trainings, the crude instructors, the poor lodging, the same lousy food and outside commitments aka. relationships. ok, i also feel that its due to feeling that NS is time wasting or poor utilised, maybe even lousy pay.

with SO many problems and unhappiness within the so-called eventual 'protectors' of the nation, conscription is not going to help very much (personal opinion). if you want your NS men to be dedicated and enthusiastic about serving NS, i believe the people at the top should do something to settle the many problems, or at the very least, appease the NS men. ok, maybe the government has already improved a lot in terms of the living conditions and the various training programmes, perhaps they should do more? i'm not trying to be greedy here, but if the government does something so that at least half of the NS men are happy and willing to serve NS, it really helps.

then again, if the conditions are too good, then trainings won't be very effective right? soldiers will still lead their pampered lives and wouldn't be able to withstand the harsh reality, if ever, a war occurs. haha. its tough being the government ain't it?

ramly burger- a case of east meets west, where marinated beef/chicken/fish patties are deep-fried and then pan-fried with spices and wrapped in egg with mayo and pepper/teriyaki sauce. i really love eating ramly burgers! haha, it'd be good if they can some day replace the western fast-food superpowers like mcdonalds, kfc and burger king. haha, imagine introducing an asian version of burgers to the west, that'd be nice! Go asian burgers!
