just a thought, as usual

domestic helpers aka. maids aka. slaves in the singaporean context. what really is their job about? being called around? sure, they're here to serve their employers, but to what extent have singaporean employers made use of this 'to serve' idea? it appears that some totally treat themselves as royalty and mistake the $400+ as installment for the purchase of their slave. sigh. domestic HELPERS, i stress, are people who HELP out with the domestic chores. assistance does not equate to yes-you-can-have-all-my-domestic-burden.

sigh, i really wonder how foreign workers actually feel about their employers. not just the domestic helpers, but also the construction workers and road sweepers. how do they actually feel? just because we have the money, and they don't doesn't mean that they should be looked down upon, yes? do they like being oppressed? who/what are the real oppressors? money or the ones who use the money?

by the way, i shall not be all that righteous and deny that i have, at one point in my life, felt superior to these foreign workers, because i have had those thought, and i am trying not to be like that, well, not anymore.
