things i just realised..

band stuff
a few things i wanna mention
firstly, band stuff
i finally realise
why 2nds and 3rds seem weaker
it does not mean they are weak
just because you cant hear them
one has to know
they play the lower registers
their sound cant travel as far
hence is less audible
i personally prefer a balance
such as?
i like to have a formation
such that there are strong players
at every stand
and not only at the 1st stand
2nds and 3rds, if not careful
often find themselves inferior
compared to the 1sts
i tell you the truth
the 1sts may be the lead
but they are nothing
without the support
from the 2nds and 3rds
so, 2nds and 3rds
do not be discouraged
u are equally important
for a good player
is not determined by
the highest of notes reached
or merely the ability to sightread
do not aim to be a better individual
strive for a better section instead
this is a truth, grasp it.

myself
is keyboard easier than a trumpet?
why can i grasp keyboard just like that
but cannot handle trumpet just as well?
is it the passion?
or, because i wasn't passionate.
i realised this when i was in band
we were resting from sectionals
i went over to the mallets
and played "Excalibur"
i grasped it just like.. *snap*
yet i had to slog with my section outside
is it no wonder why they need lesser time?
haha. chew on that.

movie
watched "The Island of Dr Moreau"
i must say, its good
it dealt with the controversial issue
concerning animal rights
as well as the conflicting ideals with religion
man, injected with genes
transform into beasts

has it occured to anyone
that the serum is like a purge?
instead of removing sinful things,
like it preaches to do,
it exposes man's inate beastly nature
and released their animalistic instincts
so how cleansed are the victims?
or is it to reveal to us viewers
that sin can never be exterminated
at least, not completely

one good point raised
"you say you are our father, yet we are nothing like you"
one of the victims pointed out
referring to both their appearences
and the fact that they had chips
inserted into them to control them

oh man, had one other point
but i forgot.
